How to prepare current affairs for IBPS Clerk Mains Exam

IBPS Clerk 2017 exam has been notified and the exams will be conducted in the month of December and January. There are four main sections of this exam, English Language and Comprehension, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. The general awareness section can be further divided into Banking and Financial Awareness and Current Affairs. In this article we will discuss strategy to prepare for current affairs in details.


The current affairs section holds good weightage of marks. The previous year’s trends show that the weightage of current affairs in Banking exams are increasing year on year. The preparation of current affairs depends on the following factors:-
  • The topics to be covered (priority list)
  • The concise and to the point study material
  • Quizzes to practice and check level of preparation
The candidates should refer good quality study materials which includes notes and videos. The candidates should also prepare their own notes for quick revisions and better understanding. Therefore candidates should keep following points in mind:-
